As we go through our everyday life, we get so caught up we forget to take care of ourselves.

When I was in college, I would get so involved with school, working, family, men boys, and I suffered. I had no outlet to make sure my wellbeing was ok.

Now that I have more time on my hands, I've been branching out; seeing more friends, reaching out to many of them via text or social media, and doing things that make me happy such as exfoliating. It's so trivial and time consuming but I love the feeling of soft skin.

Part of self care, I've been avoiding people who brought me stress. A guy I used to talk to who I used to stress over ( I can admit I was a weanie) try to add me on social media and I didn't accept it. I'm at a point in my life were if someone is a threat to my personal growth and happiness, I refuse to allow to be in my space. Part of self care is knowing what brings you joy and what doesn't.

I'm looking forward to doing more self care activities; maybe get my nails done, start another book, or take up a new hobby like learning how to drive a big rig. Who knows?
